In Your Community
For over 35 years, EastLink has been committed to empowering customers and communities through innovative telecommunications and entertainment services. We are dedicated to playing an active role in supporting charitable and non-profit organizations and activities that enrich the families and communities in which we operate. It’s all about moving forward, building stronger, healthier communities and making a positive difference in the quality of life where we live, work, and play.
Sponsorships are events, activities, and organizations that EastLink supports by providing valuable resources to the sponsored event. EastLink also engages in Community Awareness and Relationship Building projects with many non-profit and charitable organizations and corporate initiatives.
EastLink supports events primarily through EastLink TV through such programs as: EastLink Magazine, Podium TV, and live broadcasts of events such as Telethons/Fundraisers. Support can also be made through financial or in-kind resources.
As we receive a large number of sponsorship requests, EastLink places a priority on the following categories when choosing which projects to support:
- Healthcare
- Education
- Family-focused events
Some of the recent Sponsorships and Community Awareness initiatives that EastLink has supported include:

Atlantic Canada Electronics Stewardship program (ACES) EastLink is proud to be a member of the Atlantic Canada Electronics Stewardship program (ACES). ACES is a not-for-profit association registered in Nova Scotia committed to collecting and recycling electronic waste in an environmentally responsible manner. ACES is responsible for all aspects of the Nova Scotia Electronics Recycling Program that has been approved by the Province of Nova Scotia. In early 2008, an environmental handling fee for consumer electronics was implemented across Nova Scotia. Managed by the Resource Recovery Fund Board, the fee funds a program to ensure end-of-life electronics do not end up in our land-fills. A one-time fee of $3.50 has been applied to all Digital Cable Television (DCT) Receivers and Digital Video Recorders (DVR). For more information on ACES, please visit http://www.acestewardship.ca/.
