Voicemail to Email allows a customer to have their telephone voicemail messages directed to an email account via a WAV file. Voicemail to Email service enables customers to:
  • Receive voicemail messages to their email as an audio attachment. Simply "open the attachment" and play the message.
  • Receive immediate email notification when a voicemail message has been left.
  • Save important voicemail messages on their computers by saving the WAV file.

How do I sign up for the service?

Voicemail to email service is available to all customers who subscribe to Eastlink voicemail service. Please contact Eastlink at 1-888-345-1111 to order.

What do I do if I haven't been receiving Voicemail to my Email account?

You will receive a confirmation voicemail from Eastlink within 24 hours of subscribing to Voicemail to Email service. If you do not receive this email, Please contact Eastlink at 1-888-345-1111 press 2 and when prompted, 4.

How large will a Voice Mail to Email attachment be?

The maximum voicemail message length is 5 minutes. This message would equate to approximately 1 megabyte. Data plan saving suggestion: When accessing a voice mail through your email account on your smart phone choose to "preview" the message instead of downloading it.

If I delete my voicemail message in my email inbox will the message still be available on my phone?

  • Yes. The Voice mail to Email service only forwards your voice mails to your inbox. Anything you do to Email in your inbox (listen, delete, forward) will not change the status of your messages in your telephone voice mail inbox
  • Your Voicemail indicator will still let you know that you have a message when you use your Eastlink phone
  • You can still retrieve, reply, forward, save, and delete your messages in your telephone inbox independent of what you do you in your email inbox
Can I use any email address I choose?

Yes, use any email address you would like. The only limitation would be the size of the attachments that are allowed in your email inbox. Most of your voice mail messages should be below 500 KB, which is well below the inbox mail limits of most email providers like Eastlink, Hotmail, and Gmail.

When I try to listen to a voice mail message on my Black Berry it says the message is in an unsupported format.

When listening to voice mail to email messages on your Black Berry try this: choose to "open the attachment" and when prompted, press "Preview" instead of "Download and Play".

Is Voicemail to Email available to me?

Voicemail to Email is available to all customers that subscribe to Eastlink voicemail except in the following areas: Coldwater, Manitowaning/Wikwemikong, Cambray, Mindemoya, Stokes Bay, Tobermory, Aylmer, Lions Head, Dyer Bay, Straffordville, Port Burwell, Arkona, Aberarder, and Forest.
